This tree is native to Florida, the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South America, and is commonly found in coastal hammocks and tropical areas—places where sunburn-prone tourists frequent and just like many tourist, the gumbo limbo has red peeling skin.
The scent is a bold, complex fragrance with wide appeal. It leads with spicy top notes of allspice blended with rich leather. Middle notes of tobacco leaf and clove blend into the woody, deep base of sandalwood, amber, and peppercorn.(this is probably my favorite:)
